2) The Central Bank of Iraq Robbery
Loot: Almost $920 million
How do you rob a bank? Dynamite? Master lockpicks? Elaborate disguises? Well, when you’re the late dictator of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, you just ask. On the eve of the US invasion of the country, Saddam sent one of his sons in a convoy of trucks with a handwritten note for the bank manager requesting almost $1 billion.
The bank manager obliged in what then became the biggest cash heist ever. You can’t really hold it against him when the person robbing you has his face on the currency and has a reputation for grievous crimes against his own citizens.
